Scope: Rosewood Assisted Living will double its size with this new, two-story building. The new facility is going up next door to Rosewood's existing 50 assisted living apartments and will connect to the original building. The first floor will include a secured, 36-bed community that will be specialized for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, executive director Connor Overbeek said. The second floor will add 26 more assisted living apartments.
Features: The facility will include a two-story dining room, library, activity space, conference room and gardens.
Timeline: The addition is scheduled to open in December 2013 or early 2014.
Future: The company expects to hire between 15 and 20 new employees, both as administrators and caregivers in the new facility.
History: The Rosewood Assisted Living Community currently serves about 50 residents, providing transportation, meals and social, educational and recreational programs from a 24-hour staff.
