Why now: Adam Green, managing director of Green Real Estate, said the need for student housing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sparked interest in the construction. Promixity to campus also tipped the scale in favor of building.
History: Prior to Green's involvement with the property, a dual-purpose building at the corner of Vine and Lindsay streets housed Toast Cafe and Chad's Records.
Investment: $1.9 million.
Contractor: The Strauss Co., Inc.
Architect: Method Architecture, LLC.
Amenities: Apartment-style living, with mostly four-bedroom, two-bath floor plans. Bedrooms have a sink and cabinet. EPB Wi-Fi, furniture and twice monthly maid service is included.
Rent/Lease: $735-$750 a month, utilities included.
Schedule: Completed by November, in time to begin taking spring 2015 students.
