The Chattanooga Clarinet Choir will perform at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace.
The program will include Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture (Glinka), "Rikudim" (Van der Roost), "A Study in Contrasts" (Nestico), Hungarian Dance 5 (Brahms), Concert Piece 2 in D Minor (Mendelssohn) and Serenade, Op. 4 (Dvorak).
The Chattanooga Clarinet Choir was founded in 1998 by Jay Craven, a retired Chattanooga Symphony musician and music educator in the Chattanooga school system. He directed the ensemble for several years and continues to play with the choir.
Other members of this all-volunteer ensemble consist of area professional, amateur and student musicians. They perform mostly classical transcriptions and commissioned works, as well as jazz, popular and show tunes. Bobby Dugan, a lifelong music educator and trombonist, is the choir's conductor.
