Saxophonist at Sewanee

St. Andrew's-Sewanee School's McCrory Hall for the Performing Arts will host a concert by classical saxophonist Mateo Granic at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.

Granic, a native of Croatia who plays a 24-carat gold, refined saxophone custom-designed for him, will be accompanied by Elena Bennett on piano and Deidre Vaughn Emerson on violoncello.

Bennett is an adjunct professor of music at Belmont University; Emerson is professor of cello and director of orchestra at Tennessee State University.

The program will include selections from Bach, Brahms, Creston, Granic, Iturralde, Kuntari, Piazzolla and Rachmaninoff.

Admission is free.

The school is at 290 Quintard Road in Sewanee, Tenn.
