'Soft Sounds for a Summer's Eve' in Athens (June 14)

It's OK to simply listen to the six singers and musicians performing Friday, June 14, at The Arts Center in Athens, Tenn. But organizers also want your opinion.

The coffeehouse-style show has a theme, "Soft Sounds for a Summer" Eve," but the series needs a title. So "audience members will cast a deciding vote to determine the brand name," according to a news release.

The featured acts are two acoustic duos -- Andrew Kimball and Lindsey Nunley, as well as Ashley and Ally Clark. Adam Klinker will be featured on percussion, and Emmy McKenzie will make a guest appearance.

Presented by the Athens Area Council for the Arts, the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the center's Sue E. Trotter Theater.

Light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. They are available online at www.athensartscouncil.org, by phone at 423-745-8781 or from the box office, 320 N. White St. The center is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Before the show, there will be an opening reception for an exhibit of photography by Sheila Silvus Chesanow from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Admission is free for the "Not Just a Snapshot" reception.
