Children visiting Creative Discovery Museum on Saturday can celebrate a new exhibit, "Play! Build! Climb!," and learn about some "Super Friends."

• "PLAY! BUILD! CLIMB!": The newly created exhibit, sponsored by PlayCore, will enable children to build a town, experiment with concepts of height, length and size, and become architects as they build skyscrapers and castles. The goal is to promote movement and encourage problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

"One of the best ways children learn is through play," said Henry Schulson, the museum's executive director. "This exhibit should be a tremendous amount of fun as children engage in climbing challenges and use their imaginations to create worlds of their own."

"Play! Build! Climb!" will remain on view through Nov. 6 in the Upstairs Gallery.

• "SUPER FRIENDS": This event, scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Saturday as part of Preschool Adventure Day for children 18 months to 4 years old, will allow kids to meet a firefighter, police officer, postal worker and doctor. A fire truck and police car will be on the Plaza for children to touch and explore.

The children also will participate in role-playing opportunities as they dress up and act out the job of community helper. Guests will be able to make a community helper paper puppet complete with a uniform.

The CDM is at 321 Chestnut St. Admission is $11.95. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday (closed most Wednesdays through February) and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
