The One Step Up Poker Run, set for Saturday, Sept. 7, could be one for the record books.

The Freedom Riders Motorcycle Club is hosting the ride, which will start at Thunder Creek Harley-Davidson, 7720 Lee Highway, and end at The Backyard Grille, 4021 Hixson Pike.

"Our main goal is to raise awareness for the ever-growing homeless population and to raise money for the Chattanooga Community Kitchen," organizers say on the ride's Facebook page.

The secondary goal, they say, is to earn the title of World's Largest Poker Run. The current record, according to Guinness World Record keepers, is 586 participants.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Thunder Creek. The schedule has the first bike out at 11:30 a.m., last out at 12:30 p.m., then last in at 5 p.m. at The Backyard Grille.

The purse will be determined by participation. Cost to play is $10 for the first hand, $20 for three. A 50/50 drawing also will be held.

Bands Whiskey Run and Marlow Drive will provide entertainment for the after-party.
