More than 70 local Kangaroo Express stores have discount tickets available for the 20th annual Southern Brewers Festival.
The multi-act concert/beer-tasting event has been expanded from one day to two days this year, Aug. 22-23. Discount tickets are available through that Friday, Aug. 22, priced at $30 for both days, typically the price of one concert day. Tickets at the gate, good for both days, will be $60.
Crowds turn out for beer, music and mingling during the Southern Brewers Festival held every year on the Riverfront at Ross's Landing.Brew Fest is sponsored by Big River Grille & Brewing Works to raise funds for local charities. This year's benefactors are Chattanooga's Kids on the Block and the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
Fifty microbreweries from across the Southeast will serve up more than 100 premium ales and lagers. Musical guests include progressive rock band moe., Southern rock jam band Gov't Mule and funk jazz trio Soulive.
The festival typically draws more than 15,000 people to Chattanooga's riverfront.
