A park in Georgia doesn't need a lush view of trees and mountains to make it beautiful.
But those with such a view, like Tallulah Gorge State Park and Black Rock Mountain State Park, can serve up some gorgeous scenery and landscapes for visitors.
Or if you're an urban explorer, Centennial Olympic Park and Piedmont Park - located in the heart of Atlanta - offer beauty and convenience without the spiders and ticks. What they lack in hills and trees, they make up for with a gorgeous skyline and plenty of unique activities.
Delivering beauty at Tallulah Gorge State Park
* Tallulah Gorge State Park boasts a spectacular canyon.
* The gorge is about two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep.
* If you're feeling daring, a suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, which gets your heart racing and provides spectacular views.

High Times - Black Rock Mountain State Park
* This is the highest state park in Georgia, and features some outstanding scenery.
* There's plenty of room, with 44 campsites and 10 cottages.
* Occasional live music is performed for entertainment.

Olympic-sized fun
* It may lack the wooded scenic area, but this 21-acre park in downtown Atlanta is still a must-do.
* During the summertime, the Fountain of Rings, the park's centerpiece, is a landmark of Georgia --- and a great way to cool off on those hot summer days. The occasional fountain show is worked to music.
* Look under your feet and see 800,000 bricks used to construct the park, almost all of which are inscribed by someone that purchased them.
* No need to bring your own sack lunch to the park, the walk-up burger joint Googie Burger has a futuristic look and tasty food. It is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
* Beef, chicken, and veggie are just some of the things on the Googie Burger menu.

Health nut Heaven --- Piedmont Park
* Athletes and aspiring athletes can work up a sweat with activities such as cycling, deep-water aerobics, tennis, swimming, and even skating.
* Piedmont Park is going green with the Green Market, open May 5 through December 8 this year from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This top-ranked park gives access to local farmers and merchants from the area.
