Complete Eye Care helps solve problems of glare

People all across Chattanooga are welcoming the sunny days of spring that are just around he corner. However, along with sunshine come problems of glare for those who wear glasses.

The professionals in the Optical Shop at Complete Eye Care are ready with a great solution: Crizal coating for lenses.

"Crizal provides the clearest vision possible, along with protection against glare, scratches,
dust, smudges, water and UV rays," said Candace Davis, LDO. "It's available in all types of lenses, and there are different packages."

The antiglare feature allows light to enter the lens with no aberrations, vision possible, Davis explained.

"Lenses with no coatings have aberrations, the failure of rays to converge at one focus because of limitations or defects in a lens," she continued. "This causes glare, and
adding an antiglare coating fights against that."

Rachel Ridge, pointed specifically to the Crizal Prevencia which protects eyes from the harmful blue-violet light found in sunlight, indoor lighting and most digital device screens.

"Blue-violet light can bring on risk factors for the onset of age-related macular degeneration," she said. "The Crizal Prevencia helps slow that process and provides ease and clarity on the eyes."

Blue-violet light is emitted from many modern devices used today including smartphones,
tablets, computers, LED and compact fluorescent lights. It can also be present outside and in any type of weather.

"Even if you are inside or think it's not as bad on a cloudy day, your eyes are still in need of that protection," said Ridge.

Crizal Prevencia helps lenses deflect harmful blue-violet light and provides 25 times more protection against the damaging rays of the sun, with an Eye-Sun Protection Factor of 25. Yet it allows beneficial blue-turquoise light to pass through, which helps preserve color perception.

"All of this helps keep your vision clear, comfortable and protected," Davis said.

Women in particular will also find benefit in the cosmetic advantages of the Crizal protective coating, she said. "When you look at someone you are looking at their
eyes and not a glare or a reflection on the lenses," said Davis. "It's so much better."
