Parent-and-child Spanish classes to begin Sunday

Chattanooga School of Language is offering a six-week series of parent-child Spanish classes that begin Sunday.

Two Sunday afternoon classes will be offered to children ages 2-4 and their parents, and ages 5-7 and their parents.

Classes will take place at the school in the Business Development Center, 100 Cherokee Blvd., Suite 307.

"Our parent-child language class is one of my favorites," says Laurie Stevens, owner of CSL. "When parents and their children learn side by side, they are able to take what they learned in class back home, and it becomes part of their daily lives."

Additionally, the school will offer group and private classes in nine languages beginning April 1, according to Stevens.

"Over the past several years, schools have had their budgets cut," she says. "Many local families have contacted CSL to make sure their children receive exposure to foreign languages. We have been able to meet this need by working with several elementary schools to create after-school language classes, as well as a parent-child class and customized tutoring."

Registration for the parent-child Spanish class and for the April 1 term is under way. For more information on the times, dates and cost of classes, check the school's website at www.chattanoogalanguage.com. Students may register online or by calling 423-802-2040.
