Smart city race enters last laps

The competition to land the tag of the world's "smartest city" entered the final stages today when the chairman of a New York think tank met with Chattanooga officials and business people.

John G. Jung, chairman and co-founder of the Intelligent Community Forum, said Chattanooga is the last of seven cities officials are visiting leading up to a June 3 decision.

Jung met with more than a dozen entrepreneurs and others in the city to gain a better feel for Chattanooga's technology efforts and how those are impacting people.

Already named one of the seven most intelligent cities, Chattanooga leaders are trying to move from the short list to the top.
