Dalton police search for check counterfeit suspects

Dalton police are looking for three suspects who cashed more than $1,400 in counterfeit checks at an area grocery store.

On Jan. 21, two females and a male cashed what appeared to be payroll checks from the Boys and Girls Club at the Bi-Lo on Cleveland Highway, said police spokesman Bruce Frazier.

The checks were later determined to be counterfeit and the crime was reported to police on Feb. 4, Frazier said.

Store surveillance cameras caught the suspects on camera. The male suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with close-cropped hair.

The female suspects are described as a young black female in her 20s or 30s with shoulder-length hair and an older black female with short gray hair, Frazier said.

Anyone with information on the identity of these suspects is asked to contact Officer Steven McBrayer with the Dalton Police Department at 706-278-9085, ext. 198.
