'Very large' wildfire raging in Dade County, forestry official says

A 950-acre wildfire in Dade County, Ga., continues to occupy Georgia Forestry Commission crews that have been working since Monday to fight the blaze, an official said.

At least 10 homes are "impacted" by the Dugan Mountain wildfire, but there are no recorded injuries or structural damage, according to Troy Floyd, assistant manager for the commission's Coosa District.

The fire is burning over about 1.5 square miles.

"It's under investigation as a possible arson," Floyd said.

A dispatcher said the crews are "mopping up" the last of the fire.
