Hamilton County school system CFO Tommy Kranz, left, has an animated discussion with Hamilton County Commissioner Joe Graham at the conclusion of a joint meeting of the county commission and board of education.Hamilton County Schools Chief Financial Officer Tommy Kranz is leaving Hamilton County Schools, taking a job with another company in the middle of a struggle between the school board and the Hamilton County Commission over millions in taxpayer money for the schools system.
Emerson Russell, owner of ERMC, which is a local security firm, confirmed to the Times Free Press on Thursday afternoon that Kranz will be joining his staff.
Kranz said Thursday afternoon he would stay on part-time with the schools to help with the budget process and will join ERMC March 7.
Danielle Clark, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Schools, confirmed Kranz has an offer but has not submitted his resignation.
