"We have been really diligent to make sure taxpayers' money is used the way it's supposed to and allocated," she said.
The chamber has been under fire for more than a week after a city review alleged financial mismanagement, questionable loan and land dealings and extravagant salaries and travel expenses.
The FBI and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development are looking into the chamber's financial activities.
Gilchrist told commissioners she would answer any questions.
"We have nothing to hide," she said.
