Two men face aggravated robbery charges after officials say the pair used a BB air pistol to rob two groups of people walking down Frazier Avenue Saturday night, according to Hamilton County court documents.

Michael M. Wood and Alan R. Benjamin, both 18, were arrested early Sunday, according to a court affidavit.

The first robbery happened around 11:15 p.m., as a group of three people walked in the 400 block of Frazier. They told police two men watched them from the opposite side of the street before coming up behind them with a black pistol, demanding one of the victims' wallets.

According to the group, one man demanded the money while the other shielded him from onlookers.

About an hour later, a different couple contacted police saying they were robbed at gunpoint in the same location as they were walking back from the Hunter Art Museum.

One of the victims called his father, a detective with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The father and son drove around until they spotted the suspects, at which point the detective detained the pair and confiscated the air pistol, one of the victims' wallets and cash belonging to the other victim. A Chattanooga police officer then arrested the two men, records show.
