Police: Man killed by commuter train in Atlanta

ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigation the death of a man who was struck by a MARTA commuter train carrying several passengers.

WSB-TV reports the fatal collision happened early Saturday at about 1:20 a.m. at the downtown Atlanta Civic Center station on West Peachtree Street. Police say the man, identified as 52-year-old Bert Langley of Atlanta, was in an unauthorized area of the station when the train hit him.

About 20 passengers were aboard the train and were taken to another part of the station to catch connecting trains.

Police say the collision is still under investigation, but their work was not expected to interrupt train service.
