Georgia man struck by flying saw blade on interstate

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - A northern Georgia man is recovering from a deep gash to his forehead and severe cuts to one of his arms after being hit by a flying saw blade.

WGCL-TV reports Henry Rodriguez, of Marietta, was driving along I-285 in Sandy Springs Tuesday afternoon when a flying 14-inch circular saw blade hit him in the face.

Authorities say Rodriguez will have to undergo surgery to repair severed tendons in his left arm.

Police in Sandy Springs are investigating the incident and say it is not yet clear how the blade became airborne.

A message left with the police department Wednesday was not immediately returned.
