Dead dog's body strapped to utility pole in Macon

MACON, Ga. - Authorities in central Georgia are investigating a gruesome discovery.

Someone strapped a dead dog's body to a utility pole in Macon with a sign that said "Please dump more. Thank you."

The Telegraph of Macon reports that the small dog's body, attached upside down on the utility pole on Hightower Road in Macon, was discovered by passing motorists Sunday morning.

Benjamin Hoffmeister, who noticed the dog's body as he walked past the pole on Sunday morning, said he recognized it as one of three dogs that had been abandoned in the area.

Yellow crime scene tape was stapled around the pole later Sunday. Macon police had been called to the scene around 11 a.m. Sunday.
