Investigators found suspicious injuries on the body of a woman that was found Friday on the south bank of the Tennessee River.
Chattanooga police said the body of Deborah Underhill was found about 6:30 p.m. Friday. The police news release did not describe the injuries investigators found suspicious.
Underhill had last been seen March 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the AIM Center, 472 W. M.L. King Blvd. She was wearing a tan plaid shirt, khaki pants, and white tennis shoes. Underhill was 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighed 177 pounds and had shoulder-length gray hair.
She may have also been known as Deborah Faye Swafford, and she lived in the Red Bank and St. Elmo areas. She was known to frequent the downtown area, particularly the Public Library.
