One of Chattanooga's biggest IT support companies is changing its name again as it heads for the cloud.

The company formed as Basenine Inc. in 2005 and formerly known as Terenine announced today that it has changed its name to Cloudswell. Located on Riverside Drive, Cloudswell is one of several businesses owned or affiliated with the Internet payday lending businesses controlled by Chattanoogan Carey Brown.

In an announcement today, Cloudswell President Dave Carney said the company will offer cloud-based application development, brokered cloud services, compliance and security, and support services.

"Cloud computing is a revolutionary development, allowing for secure, scalable, and affordable technology that location-based hosting cannot provide," Carney said in a statement. "This change will greatly expand our offerings and allow us to bring our customers to the forefront of this technological innovation."

Cloudswell will retain all of its current executives and employees in its Chattanooga office, Carney said.
