Man charged after accidentally shooting brother on Buena Vista Drive

A man on Buena Vista Drive was accidentally shot by his brother Friday, according to Chattanooga police.

Officers were sent to 266 Buena Vista Drive on a person shot call about 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived they found Joaqin Burse, 18, with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Michael Burse, 19, the victim's brother, stated that he thought Joaqin had unloaded a shotgun. Michael Burse stated that he pointed the gun at his brother and accidentally shot Joaqin in the chest. Joaqin Burse was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Michael Burse has been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
