Alabama woman sentenced in children's shootings

CLANTON, Ala. - A Clanton woman has been sentenced in the shooting death of her 11-year-old son and the attempted murder of her then 15-year-old son.

WBRC-TV reports Ann Marie Campbell has been sentenced to 30 years in prison on the murder charge and 20 years on the attempted murder charge.

The sentences will run concurrently and the woman will get over two years of time served applied to her sentence. Authorities say she'll be eligible for parole in 15 years. Campbell pleaded guilty in mid-December to fatally shooting her younger son, Michael, three times and firing at her older son, Bailey Mays, as he ran from their trailer home.

Campbell's motive in the June 2011 shooting is unclear.

Clanton is about 40 miles northwest of Montgomery.
