Antwan Lamar Jackson
A man remains in Hamilton County Jail on a $1 million bond, accused of shooting and wounding his ex-girlfriend.
Antwan Lamar Jackson, 34, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault after he reportedly fired as many as four shots into a vehicle, according to a Red Bank Police Department report. Monica Branham was hit in the upper thigh/abdomen area, the report said.
Police responded to the Hardee's on 4007 McCahill Road where they found her wounded, the report said.
Jackson reportedly called Branham and told her he was going to come over to her house. Branham, who was with another man at the time, was driving to the man's residence when they passed Jackson on the road. Jackson was in the car with a woman, who was driving.
Jackson began to follow Branham, who was driving, on Rossville Boulevard, and she ran a couple of red lights trying to elude him, the report said. She was on U.S. Highway 27 when Jackson passed her vehicle, forced it to stop at Morrison Springs Road, then left his vehicle and fired several shots at her, the report said.
When police questioned Jackson about the shooting, he said he didn't know what police or Branham were talking about, according to the report.
Jackson has a prior conviction of domestic assault, according to Hamilton County court records.
He is set to appear at 3 p.m. Monday before Red Bank Judge Johnny Houston.
