Knowles, along with 94 other clerk's offices in the state, administers the Tennessee County Clerks Organ Donor Awareness Foundation, which aims to spread the word about organ and tissue donation.
The foundation has raised $4 million since 1996.
"Hamilton County citizens can join with other Tennesseans and register to be an organ donor. It can be done by simply clicking 'yes' when applying for or renewing a driver's license," Knowles said in a news release. Drivers also may apply online at www.donatelifetn.org.
