DeKalb County Sheriff's Office participates in drug roundup

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office arrested 20 people Wednesday and charged them with drug-related crimes, and law enforcement says the number might rise.

The sheriff's office has been investigating drug use in the county for months, according to a news release. Authorities are targeting the misuse of prescription drugs, and Wednesday's roundup is the first phase of the the investigation.

"Today's roundup is merely a step in the process, and the investigation will continue," Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in the release.
