MACON, Ga. - Gordon Lee held off a furious fourth-quarter rally to claim the GHSA Class A public school girls' basketball championship, 61-56, over Randolph-Clay.

The Lady Trojans held a 19-point lead after three periods, but the Lady Red Devils used 11 fourth-quarter points from Kaneika Washington to cut the lead to as little as five in the final minute. Gordon Lee (25-7), however, hit key free throws down the stretch to seal the northwest Georgia area's first basketball title since 1986.

Senior guard Kassidy Blevins led Gordon Lee with 21 points, with fellow senior Katie Barger adding 14. Read more about Gordon Lee's historical win in Friday's edition of the Times Free Press.
