A 42-year-old man is charged with attempted murder in a stabbing at an apartment in south Red Bank on Wednesday night.

Reynard Cable is in the Hamilton County Jail under a $252,000 bond. He also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

The victim, Justin D. Tocknell, 28, of Red Bank, was hospitalized for treatment of several stab wounds in the abdomen, Police Chief Timothy Christol said in a news release.

Police found Cable hiding behind the nearby Cherokee Motel where he was living and took him into custody. They also recovered a knife they believe was used in the attack, Christol said.

He didn't give a motive for the stabbing.
