Police identify 3 killed in Kentucky crash

OAK GROVE, Ky. - Kentucky State Police say an Alabama father and his two daughters are dead after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 near the Kentucky-Tennessee line.

A police statement says 38-year-old Michael Mahan of Flat Rock, Ala., was driving a Toyota Camry west on I-24 when for reasons unknown his vehicle crossed the median and traveled into the eastbound lanes. It hit a U-Haul driven by Richard Dooley, of Arlington, Va., and a vehicle driven by his wife, Lisa Larimer.

Police say Mahan, and his two daughters, 11-year-old Meagan Mahan and 16-year-old Savannah Mahan, died Friday from injuries suffered in the crash.

Lisa Larimer and her daughters, 7-year-old Ariel Dooley and 6-year-old Sierra Dooley, were taken to a nearby hospital where the girls remain in critical condition. Richard Dooley was not injured.
