Tennessee GOP, former staffer settle lawsuit

NASHVILLE - Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney said Thursday the state party has settled a lawsuit filed against it by Mark Winslow, the former state GOP chief of staff whose personnel file information wound up in a 2010 Fleishmann TV ad.

Winslow claimed the state GOP breached its contract with him when his Tennessee Republican Party personnel file was leaked to Chip Saltsman, a longtime Fleishmann aide.

The leaked Winslow personnel papers included salary information and a mutual confidentiality clause.

An order will now be entered removing the Tennessee Republican Party from Winslow's lawsuit in Davidson County Circuit Clerk, but the suit still names Fleishmann and Saltsman as defendents for defamation charges.
