Bundles of cocaine wash ashore in Alabama

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Police on the Alabama coast say they're investigating after tens of thousands of dollars' worth of cocaine washed ashore.

Gulf Shores police Sgt. Jason Woodruff told WKRG-TV (http://bit.ly/1amAsRw ) two couples walking along the beach near the saltwater pavilion recently stumbled across more than two pounds of cocaine that was wrapped in plastic and garbage bags.

Authorities say a second bundle of cocaine was found on the beach earlier this week in the Morgan Trace area.

Police say they believe the two bundles are connected and forensic tests will be conducted to determine the purity and potentially identifying features of the drugs.
