Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke today entered another offer to purchase the former Harriet Tubman housing development site.

Berke has offered the Chattanooga Housing Authority $1 million and 20 acres of land on 25th street, commonly referred to as the former Poss Homes site.

The Chattanooga Housing Authority reopened the bidding process for Tubman through Feb. 14 after a failed attempt to sell the land to Chicago-based Lakewood Realty Group.

Berke retracted the original offer to buy the site in early October after CHA chose Lakewood because its bid was higher.
