Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.Hutcheson Medical Center will be auctioned in August to the highest bidder on the Catoosa County courthouse's steps, if Erlanger Health System has its way.
Officials with the Erlanger Health System on Thursday announced they initiated formal foreclosure proceedings against Fort Oglethorpe-based hospital as part of the effort to recoup some $22 million that Chattanooga-based Erlanger loaned to Hutcheson during the two years it managed Hutcheson.
Erlanger's Board Chairman Donnie Hutcherson said in a statement, "We have acted in good faith with regards to Hutcheson, but the time has come to expect repayment."
