Complaints of vote-buying and voter intimidation in Polk County early voting are under investigation by the district attorney's office.

Steve Crump, district attorney for the 10th Judicial District of Bradley, McMinn, Monroe and Polk counties, said a criminal investigator from his office and an agent from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation visited the election commission office in Benton on Wednesday.

Crump said he acted after his office received "numerous" complaints of election shenanigans. He said several people were interviewed and that his office will be following up on the complaints.
