Longtime Hamilton County Commissioner Skillern loses reelection bid

Incumbent Fred Skillern has lost his bid for reelection.

Skillern lost the District 1 seat of the Hamilton County Commission tonight.

Randy Fairbanks took 1,249 votes to Skillern's 1,198 votes in the Republican primary.

There is no Democratic opposition in August, which means that Fairbanks will take the seat.

Skillern has been on the commission since 2001.
