Road closed tileThe northbound and southbound ramps at North Access Road near the Chickamauga Dam will be closed tonight and Thursday night for resurfacing, and traffic will be detoured.
Jennifer Flynn, spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, said the state agency is applying skid-resistant surfaces on selected areas regionwide.
She said that, weather permitting, the ramps will be closed tonight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for resurfacing. If the work isn't completed tonight, it will continue Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detours using Hixson Pike, DuPont Parkway and Amnicola Highway will be marked, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control, Flynn said.
Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances postpone this work, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date.
