O'Shae SmithA grand jury returned indictments Wednesday in two attempted murder cases.
O'Shae Smith was indicted on an attempted murder charge in connection with the April shooting of Kendre Allen. Smith himself was shot March 15, and police say the Allen shooting was part of an ongoing gang war.
Julia Shields was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a deadly weapon, evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Police say Shields drove through a Hixson neighborhood in late December, shooting at her neighbors and at drivers, even aiming her gun at a police officer. She led police on a chase through the neighborhood before surrendering.
