A second juvenile was in custody Thursday after a violent carjacking last month on Dorsey Street.

Jaden Mason, 17, is currently being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. McCayla Watt, 16, was apprehended Wednesday. She is also at the detention center.

The two youth are suspects in an April 23 incident in which police say a person received "serious bodily injuries" during a carjacking. The victim told police that when he tried to reclaim his vehicle, the suspects quickly accelerated, dragging him, running him over and mutilating his foot.

Mason and Watt are facing charges of especially aggravated robbery and attempted murder. And per Tennessee law, information about juveniles charged with especially aggravated robbery is not exempt from public record.
