Sunday night, Curry was listed in critical condition at Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga.

Destiny Jackson died from injuries suffered in the fire.

Investigators still are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.

Dallas Bay house damaged by fire

A family of five sought shelter Sunday night after a fire in their basement, according to Hamilton County Emergency Services.

In a news release, spokeswoman Amy Maxwell said homeowner Michael Wilson saw smoke coming through the floor vents of his home at 1500 N. Winer Drive about 7:15 p.m.

Dallas Bay volunteer firefighters responded and extinguished a fire in the basement.

The Wilson family got out of the house, and no injuries were reported, but the basement and subfloor were damaged. The American Red Cross is assisting the family, and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will investigate the fire.
