Ivy Street house fire displaces 3 adults, child

No one was injured when a house caught fire at 2007 Ivy Street on Saturday evening, the Chattanooga Fire Department reported.

In a news release, Battalion Chief Winston Shields said the fire appears to have started in the rear of the house and spread quickly.

No one was home when the fire started, Shields said.

Six fire companies were dispatched to the fire at 6:35 p.m. The house sustained substantial damage, he said.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called to provide assistance to the family.

The release stated three adults and one child were displaced but officials did not release their names.
