Dooley: 'Da'Rick Rogers has not been suspended'

KNOXVILLE - From a possible dismissal, suspension and up-in-the-air status to the doghouse, Da'Rick Rogers' status with the Tennessee football team was all over the place on Friday afternoon.

A source inside the football program told the Times Free Press that the sophomore receiver was facing an "indefinite suspension" similar to the situation with safety Janzen Jackson this past spring and summer. Rogers has not been dismissed and can return to the team, the source said.

Multiple reports had Rogers in roster limbo, and one even said the talented Rogers had been completely dismissed.

Volunteers coach Derek Dooley finally put an official stamp on his star receiver's status.

"Da'Rick Rogers has not been suspended and is still a part of our football team," Dooley said through the program's Twitter account.

Without fellow sophomore receiver Justin Hunter, Rogers put up 1,040 yards on 67 catches with nine touchdowns this season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Calhoun, Ga., native led the Southeastern Conference in receptions and yards.
