Time for talk in SEC

SEC MEDIA DAYS SCHEDULEThis afternoonArkansas, Florida, Mississippi State and South CarolinaThursday morningAuburn, Georgia, Kentucky and TennesseeFriday morningAlabama, LSU, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt

The 2011 Southeastern Conference football media days will kick off this afternoon in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover with the coach and players from Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State and South Carolina.

A quick show of hands for those who correctly predicted Florida having the worst record last season among that quartet.

The Gators won two national championships in Urban Meyer's six seasons but now is coached by former Georgia safety Will Muschamp, who made a splash by hiring Charlie Weis as offensive coordinator. That dynamic is sure to be discussed today, and will former Gators coach Steve Spurrier provide any memorable quips after leading South Carolina to its first East Division title?

Georgia and Tennessee will take the stage Thursday morning along with reigning BCS champion Auburn. Senior cornerback Brandon Boykin, senior center Ben Jones and sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray will represent the Bulldogs, while senior defensive tackle Malik Jackson, senior tailback Tauren Poole and junior tackle Dallas Thomas will represent the Volunteers.

Media days will wrap up Friday morning with headliners Alabama and LSU, programs that have combined for three of the past eight national titles, and the release of the media preseason voting. Representing the Crimson Tide will be senior safety Mark Barron, junior linebacker Dont'a Hightower and junior tailback Trent Richardson.
