Georgia's defensive back Paris Bostick has toe surgery

Georgia announced Friday that freshman defensive back Paris Bostick will redshirt the 2013 football season after recently undergoing surgery on his left toe.

The 6-foot-1, 217-pound Bostick suffered the toe injury during his senior season at Tampa's Plant High School. He was rated the nation's No. 34 safety prospect by Scout.com and No. 40 by Rivals.com.

The Bulldogs signed eight defensive backs in February, but two are now certain to redshirt. Cornerback Reggie Wilkerson enrolled early and had a productive spring, but he had to undergo knee surgery after sustaining an injury in summer workouts.
