Retired from TVA

Blake Daniel lined up his camera at the east end of the range at Moccasin Bend on Tuesday.

He wanted to capture the motions of his swing.

The retired TVA senior special agent has decided to change his swing after more than 30 years of playing golf. Under the instruction of Brendan Kennedy, he is following the Stack-And-Tilt method that has been endorsed by PGA Tour pro Eric Axley, who grew up in Athens, Tenn.

"I keep thinking that my best golf is in front of me," Daniel said. "At my best I shot in the low 80s, but now I shoot high 80s on a good day."

Daniel grew up in Tullahoma and was introduced to the game by a cousin when he was 15 years old.

"I've taken lessons from guys who worked with David Leadbetter and guys who worked with Butch Harmon. I've always taken lessons," Daniel said. "But this is like I'm starting all over again."

He is scheduled to visit with Kennedy in the next week in Orlando, Fla., after sharing video clips of his swing with the instructor.

"I go about four times a year," Daniel said.

Yet he records his swing several times per month for his own analysis to ensure that he is keeping with the program.

"I enjoy hitting solid shots," Daniel said. "Sometimes that's better than scoring a good round."
