SPARTA, Tenn.-Grundy County's Haley Coffelt and Chelsey Wiseman led all scorers with 23 and 19 points, but Cannon County had more weapons and ended the Lady Yellow Jackets' season with a 72-49 defeat in the Region 4-AA girls' basketball semifinals Monday night at White County High School.
Chelsey Payne scored 15 points and sisters Abbey and Emily Sissom added 13 apiece for Cannon County (27-7), which will play Livingston Academy, a 45-32 winner over Upperman in the championship game Wednesday. Trailing 28-21 at halftime, Grundy (21-8) scored the first six points of the third quarter, but the Lady Lions then went on a 14-2 run to cement control.
