Baylor in Division II state volleyball final

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Baylor will play Friday for a TSSAA state high school volleyball championship, but no other area team will join the Lady Red Raiders in finals. Three Hamilton County teams lost in loser-bracket finals tonight.

Baylor defeated St. Agnes 3-1 in the Division II-AA tournament today and will face Ensworth on Friday in the championship match at 1 p.m. EDT at Middle Tennessee State University. Sale Creek lost 3-0 to Friendship Christian in the Class A winners-bracket final and then lost 3-2 in the losers-bracket final.

Red Bank beat East Hamilton 3-0 and defeated South Greene 3-1 but lost 3-2 to Goodpasture Christian for the second time in the tournament and ended its season one match shy of a third consecutive state final.

Soddy-Daisy defeated Sullivan South 3-0 and then won 3-1 over Siegel. That put the Lady Trojans in the Class AAA losers-bracket final against Independence, which beat them in the opening round Wednesday and again tonight, by a 3-2 score.
