The Phoenix (35-14) will play again Wednesday against Westminster, a 3-0 winner over Rockmart on Saturday.

"We came out very focused and jumped on top early," Sonoraville coach Trace Vaughn said. "They have a very good team, but we are simply playing great volleyball right now. Our girls are playing their hearts out, and our serving and receiving are the best they've been in the history of our program.

"It was fantastic to have the home crowd behind us, but we have the best parents and fans anywhere, and we often have more people in the stands even when we are the guests."

Sonoraville was led by Haley Ponder with 10 kills and Savannah Wilbanks with 14 assists. The Phoenix's digs were spread around with Wilbanks and Haley Smith leading with six apiece. Maris Irick had three of their nine aces.
