FORT OGLETHORPE Dorothy Beatrice Akins, 92, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012.She was born in Rossville to the late Stanley and Sally Akins. Dorothy retired from Avon Cosmetics after many years of service.She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Houston, Jack and Bobby Akins; sisters, Cecil Akins, Lela Brotherton, Nina Anderson, Doris LaDuke, Anna Ruth Bentley, Mary Minor and Norma Jean Powell.Survivors include her nieces and nephews.Graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.Family will receive friends after noon Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
