Mr. Levine touched many with his wit and humor, but above all with his love and devotion to family and his generosity and service to others. Many of those Mr. Levine helped never knew the source of their assistance. After his discharge with the rank of Sergeant, Mr. Levine worked for four years in the family Elesay Jewelry business before beginning a career as an insurance executive that would span 52 years. Mr. Levine served for 18 years as a charter board member of Cornerstone Bancshares, Inc., and was also a member of the Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation board. Additionally, Mr. Levine served on The Baylor School board of trustees from 1992-1998 and was past President of the Arts & Education Council, Insurors of Chattanooga, Insurors of Tennessee, Mizpah Congregation, the National Association for the Craniofacially Handicapped, St. Barnabas Nursing Home and Apartments, and the University of Tennessee Hamilton County Alumni Association. Mr. Levine was named Young Man of the Year by the Jewish Welfare Federation and he was the first recipient of the Mizpah Congregation Tree of Life Award. His other honors include being named Tennessee Insuror of the Year in 1970 and Chattanooga Insuror of the Year in 1978. He is also the recipient of The Baylor School Distinguished Alumnus Award and The Baylor School Volunteer of the Year. In addition to his immediate family, those left to cherish his memory are nephews Scott (Lynne) Fisher and Barry (Leona) Fisher; niece Sally Fisher (Jack) Cotlar; cousins Howard (MJ) Levine, Peggy Harris Moore, Doris Turesky (Bill) Fader, Diane Gould (Ken) Muhlendorf; and many extended family and friends. Mr. Levine was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Louis Levine and Frances Goldman Levine; his good friends and parents-in-law Garrison Siskin and Goldie Temerson Siskin; and his sister Eleanor Levine Fisher. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mizpah Congregation, The Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation, Hospice of Chattanooga or the National Parkinson Foundation.
